    ls this right???

    Just been on the phone to vauxhall's for a price for my rear wheel bearing, which l may add is a complete pissin rip off, £131 + VAT for part, and £60 labour!!!!!!

    Anyway, l asked about havin the tech 2 plugged in to update my software, and he told me that he couldn't as the 2003 sxi's have got different software and hardware to my 2000.....is this right????????

    The 2003 & 2000 may have a different engine management ?, the software updates are pulled from vauxhall central for each specific car group via the Tech 2.

    I think he is giving you the brush off treatment for some unknown reason, only takes about 5 mins to check.

    He couldnt even look my car up on the database as it hasnt been there before, it used to be serviced in vauxhall's up north somewhere. l thought there all joined on the system.

    l really wanted to have the update as well....

    Its only a case of plugging the Tech 2 into your car so it can pull the cars details, then connecting the Tech 2 with vauxhall via direct link, which will tell them if it it requires any updates or not :?

    Do they charge for this and any updates that it might need? Or is it just a routine they do during a service?

    Shop around - I got both front wheel bearings replaced at a local dealer for £212 all in.

    Sounds like someone doesn't wanna do the work and is putting you off.
