    Blowing Exhaust.....

I fitted a Peco twin back box to my 1.6 16v SXi but it's blowing slightly at the join.....I just went and bought some Gum Gum (I think thats what it's called) and just wondered can I get away with just smearing that around the join or should I take it off? It's only a small gap I think

Any advice gratefully received as it's my first mod to this motor

    Cheers

The gum gum hardens ond will go brittle, then will begin to break off in bits

I had a small hole in an exhaust on my mk3 which I just filled with Gun Gum from Halfords.

Never blew again worked a treat. If its only a small hole try it before taking it off again and packing it out.

Just depends on whether or not you can be botherd

If you patch it up and it comes off them you will be pissed off

If you patch it up and it works, result

I like to make sure with things and would take it off and re-do it

Does your rear silencer join with a flexible joint if yes you should not need any gun gum to seal it..........Try changing the Gasket as they wear down over time.........
