Do you have the ECU and wiring loom??? If not, your stuffed!!! Sorry!!!

What engine have you currently got?

The redtop has different mounting points, which means to new engine and gearbox mounts need to be made!!

If it was me, i'd sell it and gor for a x20xev engine (ecotoec), they slot straight in!!

Always remember to include ECU and Wiring looms as part of the price!

It is possible, but potentially a waste of time, and will take a large amount of effort!!!

It can be fitted, but it takes time and a bit of wire bodging to splice the ECU loom into the MK4. To fit a worn XE into a MK4 is a bit of a backward step, we've discussed this before on AS and it is better to keep and tune the ECOTEC.

Despite what they say the ECOTEC is a better engine than the red top, just needs a little more time and effort to tune, but fundamentally it is a stronger and more reliable powerplant
