    Cambelt change on MK4 Astra?

    At what mileage should it be changed on the MK4 Astra?

    Think it's 30,000 and cost's about £350.

    Had mine done a couple of weeks ago, Cam belt kit and fitting is approx £260ish @ dealers.

    it used to be 60k untill vaux had a fair few baxk in with the cam belt gone well before the 60k mark so it was changed to 40k

    Some older manuals in your car will say 60k, so be carefull it is 40k.

    any one know of any good garages that can do cambelt change and wont charge as much as Vauxhall in south west area?
    or is it best to sling it Vauxhalls way?

    I got my local mechanic to do my dad's cavalier , he used to be a Vauxhall mechanic but doesnt charge vauxhall prices .

    He runs his own proper parts shop, but also does repairs e.t.c

    They specify 60,000km (which is a very rough 40,000mi) for belt changes... I was even worried even then it'd snap before 60,000km...
