    Does the 1.8 Mk4 Have 2 Cats??

Is their a pre cat on the 1.8 mk4's aswell as the main cat?

Just ive seen pre cat replacement pipes for some engines in the vauxhall range?

Bugger, trying to find easy power gains in my car!

My best mates just about to buy either a 1.8 or 2litre focus so I need a bit more power to keep ahead!

Lol, get a straight pipe that should give you a little bit more power and you could go for a nice new manifold for some more power. We can't have a Focus beating a Vauxhall now!

I dont think it would anyway, raced a couple of the 2litre ones nd beat them but not by much! Just need that extra little kick!

When the cars out the bodyshop might consider the 4branch manifold nd then possibly a sport or de-cat, only probs is MOT nd those road side tests that they do!

Std manifold is good enough on 1.8.

Go for big bore exhaust such as Powerflow, or whatever Ascar can do for you.

Add to that de-restricted airbox and panel filter and you will see of any 2.0 Zetec Focus. Forget the 1.8, the ratio's in it are crap.

Richie some people say 8.5secs but alot say 9.5 including vaux themselves so no idea whats true! Think quickest ive got mine down to with a stopwatch was 8.7 nd thats moded.

Mant ive got an induction kit, bad route I know! Got a cat-back magnex system but im planning on changing that soon but no idea what exhausts to go for! Its also been chipped.

Who are Ascar and do they do decent custom stuff?

Im not going with *********, yet to see one of their stainless steel systems that isnt rusted to hell after 6months.

I'd double check that you haven't got a pre-cat. One of the lads has the 2.2 SRi Coupe and they found it had the pre-cat on that model.
