    Airbag Light

I`ve been informed today, that if I disconnect and reconnect the seatbelt tensioner, the airbag light will not go out unless I install an in line resistor.

Does anyone know if this is correct ?

    Utter B*ll**ks!

This will only happen if you switch your ignition on whislt the switch is out!

    Ps HI PETE

    Heres a quick how to!

Remove battery (both terminals), wait 1 minute, pull out red pin, remove plug, (remove seat) (if necessary!), replace plug, replace pin (firmly, a click should be heard!), re-connect battery, fire her up, take pleasure in seeing no warning lights!

However, if you even slightly, dont plug the connector back in properly, the RLOD (red light of death) will appear!!

    Cheers for that Mark

The Recaro instructions say to disconnect the negative terminal on the battery and wait 10 mins b4 unplugging the seatbelt tensioner, but don`t say anything about the airbag light.

Not sure Pete, I was just guiding you from the instruction i know of! The seats are not made by Recaro, only trimmed by them! (unless you have aftermarket ones!), I always feel safer removing both battery terminals, and waiting a few mins, i.e. do something else to the mota, or make a brew!!!

The reason being, that although you have removed the negative terminal, the positive is still attached, therfore taking a feed, doenst have to be earther to complete the some circuits!

Waiting a while tho is a good idea!

The seats are Recaro Speed Dinamica`s. I bought them at PV2003 Recaro stand and are a perfect match to the rest of my interior i.e. silver alcantara, so I`m well chuffed

I`ll go for both terminals and wait 10mins just to be sure.

    Thanks again mate

Pete have you got side air bags?? if so then the air bag light will not go off once you have installed the new seats. Also once one is disconnected none of them will work unless you sort it via tech 2.

Also if you are taking out the side air bags make sure you tell your insurance as you may find that your insurance is void for making the care less safe.[/quote]

Mark go to your dealer they will turn it off for you, they shouldnt really charge you either. If they do it will cost a £10 at the most.
