    Track Rod Ends

Does anybody else go through track rod ends like they are going out of fashion?

My coupe turbo is needing another set and they were replaced on its 2nd birthday service. Its nearly out of warranty now but I bet they are not cheap out of warranty!

My old car Astra GSI (J reg), replaced them annually.

    Are Vauxhalls built to fail??

i think it depends more on how you drive. and if you have done anything to the suspension setup's.

if its anything like my corsa which was lowered 60mm, had 17" alloys etc then i would expect that you would cause a bit more ware and tear on then.

plus the fact i drive quite hard so that also tended to where them out a fair bit.

What about trying to get race spec ones ?
They should be designed to take more punishment..

Track Rod Ends - similar or same a rose joints?
I know that stock cars can go through them quite a bit, but the guys who pay the extra to get quality ones last longer and can take a lot more hits.

The track rod end is the one off the steering rack.

The other bushing in the front suspension can affect the track rod ends, especially if the car hasn't been through an MOT yet. My 12 month old Astra is going for an 'MOT' soon, basically so my mates at the garage can give it a thorough check, then I can sting Vauxhall for anything I can blag under the warranty.

They'll do a full MOT test, which I can then chuck in the bin if it passes

currently powerflex only do front and rear bush's for the front suspesion arm.

rose joints are stonger, but i think you will have to make quite a few changes
