Seriously though there is no point in doing this.
I would imagine that the first filter would restrict the second.

    So no point.

Have you got it shielded from the engine ?
It won't work at its best if hot air can get to it.

For that capacity of engine a 2nd filter would not make any difference at all. Would be pretty pointless to fit, unless it is for show.

Remember with an induction kit the air is sucked not rammed as in the original airbox so therefore fitting a 2nd filter would not impede the performance of the other. That is unless the 2nd filter was close to a warm air supply!

I take it you have a performance exhaust, otherwise you are not reaping the benefit's from the current induction kit.

57i & Cat Back exhaust on XE1 will give you 125 bhp (gain of 10-12 bhp)

On XE2 you will probably be pretty close to 135 with the same mods.

Is the XE2 engine the updated version of the XE1?

Also is it possible to buy the heat shields for the 57i induction kits and if so where from?

If your car is late Y plate or 51/52 it will definetly have the XE2.

Slight engine remap gives the later engine 125 PS(122 BHP) compared to 115 PS (113 BHP) with the old XE1.

How about this for an idea ?
Buy the Regal bigger grille intake pipe (£49 but does the trick) which will duct more air to the filter, then use the lid from a CD spindle (which you can cover in silver foil to reflect the heat). Cut it and fit to the base of the 57i. Voila (that's french!) a custom made heat shield.

More air (but not hot), should result in more bhp!
