    REALLY LOAD SQUEEKING

I have a very load squeeking coming from one of my wheels when i drive. There are brand new pads and disks (the squeeking was there with the old ones too) and it seems to start squeeking when I turn the wheel, but continues when I straighten up. Can anyone help as it's really load.

Incidently, i took the car to Vauxhall about it about a month ago and paid £60 for new pads as this was supposed to be the problem. I have taken it back today and have to wait until wednesday for it to be booked in.

ive had a similar problem for weeks , it went thru MOT fine but is not squeaking all the time , i find that if i can i push hard on the brakes and it stps it , till next time anyway , i rekon its a brake pad just touching the disc slighty, i may be wrong ?

Incisentally do u get a Clicking noise sometimes when u brake ?

My Mk2 2 had a loud squeeking comming from a front wheel that went on slight lock then came back again.

Turned out to be a wheel bearing

well just collceted the car again and another garage said they couldnt find any problem. Getting reallyt pissed off now. If it is the bearings, I think I will get them done this weekend. Is labour expensive (or does that depend on where you go in the UK?).

    Cheers.

Labour is about a hour a side as you have to remove the strut and press out the hub and bearing and repress the new bearing and old hub back on.

I you remove the strut yourself and take them to a garage that will save you labour.

Apparently it wasn't the bearings cos if they start squeeking they dont stop.
