    mk4 sxi differences

whats the main differences between early sxi models and later ones?

only ones i can think of are early models dont have colour coded handles nor the aluminium dash trim. anything else?

cant really justify spending 8k on a 2000 model when 1998/9 models go for around £5/6k

Ealier ones have Skyline cloth instead of the newer cloth from the coupe. No alu rings on dials, some had 15" wheels, no leather on the steering wheel.

2003 SXi has tinted front/rear lights, multispoke 16's, alloy style gearknob, alloy style dash trim, colour coded bits, CDR500. Only feature it lost was the rear centre headrest, fitted with Dunlop tyres.

2002 SXi has 10 spoke 16' alloys, CAR 400, rear centre headrest, fitted with Michelin tyres.

Best trying to get a car registered after 1/10/2000 as they have 3 year, 60k warranty.

The SXi's didnt start coming with the Alu dash and gear knob etc until the late 52plates.

a guy i work with bought a 52 plate sxi, I bought a 03 sxi plate a few months later.

    - i got multispoke alloys (he got old 10spoke style)
    - i got alloy gear knob (his was plain black)
    - i got alloy dash thing, dont like it (his was plain black)
    - i got tinted front and rear lights (he had standard)
    - i got white indicators (his were orange)
    - i shouldve got colour coded handles (he didnt) (i have now though, vaux
    - production mistake)

overall he was pretty gutted i think, that i got all this extra stuff for no extra cost, lol

    - we both got white dials
    - he got centre headrest, i didnt :?
    - his car seems lower than mine (but we have different bodykits and my wheels are 2" bigger now, maybe its illusion)

Major difference between new and old sxi's:

The old 1.8 engines were more powerfull than those from about 1999,2000 but then in 2000 they bumped up the power again when they went drive by wire throttle.
