    Halfords

Having major problems with Halfords at the min

Bought a headunit a yr ago and had nothing but probs. After 4months the facia connection had to be resoldered. Since its been back it keeps skipping when playing audio cds so took it back and no fault found.

Couldn't be @r$ed to argue any more so got myself a cd changer and left it at that.

Then, last week the player started messing around again (when you press vol buttons screen turns of etc).

Phoned halfords and spoke with staff and deputy manager but all they could offer is a free repair or 10% off a new unit (hmm could prob get more discount shopping aroung on internet).

Anyway, phoned head office today and got put through to the gate house security as the office was shut.

Security guard accidentally gave me a regional managers mobile number (lol). So gave him a bell and got him to look into it.

Just wondered if any of you guys have experienced problems like this?

Fingers crossed - i'll have a replacement unit soon :-)

I only use them when I have to, generally because they're too expensive.

Halfords are good for every day stuff, but their ICE & Styling departments leave a lot wanting. I went look for some speakers for my old car and the salesperson hadn't got a clue what he was on about. I was told that the 150 watters would be louder than the 100 watters. Now any fool knows that is nonsense ops: I felt sorry for the poor muppet

I now that each store is different and where u go makes a difference, because of the level of knoledge the staff have!!! Lots ov halfords stores have complete muppets working there and half havent a clue!!!
BUT in there favour its not halfords that is the problem, its the supplier
eg the wheels for that chap on talkspeeding, they were damaged in carrige because the suppliers dont package them correcly for carrage, and van drivers dont usually hang around!!! Plus because halfords have a special offer in arrangment with the suppliers ov 20 percent off, there has been shit loads ov orders for the wheels which the suppliers have messed up and not been able to meet demand!!!!! so halfords gets the flack!!!
And with the stereo it sounds again like a manufacturing fault halfords dont make the units they sell them direct from the major manufacturers,
so halfords again get the flack when the probs are not caused by them!!!
Im not sticking up for them as i know what its like, im just explaining why the probs have arisen and whos to blame!!!
Its the suppliers that cause all the greif!!
But if your after info make sure you go to a store that knows what its on about and the people who work there actually practice what they preitch!!
