    Opions On Grill, Please ...

Opions appreciated on the grill below, as I'm thinking of getting one. It's the Opel GSi OPC grill.

    Thanks.

Luv this grill , was thinkin about one of these myself, and then I thought, makes it look like a 'grey import'.

A large Griffin badge stuck over the opel ring might have solved it tho.

My gut feelin is, it would be OK if it was on a genuine OPC model

In the end I played it safe and went for the Irmscher grill instead.

I think the standard Opel grille is the nicest one you can get for the Astra. That OPC one would be my second choice (it'd be my first if it didn't have that chrome strip along the bottom.)

    Go for it.

It's all personal taste as is all things asscociated with modifying cars. Some people like it and some people don't. I personally prefer the Opel badging to Vauxhall. I don't like the V Grill ... and I'm not that keen on the word Vauxhall either. The Vauxhall name leaves a very sour taste in some peoples mouths - in the likes of other marques like Skoda and such. Just look at all the bad press for Vauxhall in Motoring Magazines and programmes on television. It takes the biscuit when my local dealer has partnered up with Daewoo for gods sake! There's Daewoo cars all over the show-room, which is a very sad sight! I've never heard the same bad press in other countries such as Germany with the Opel. Which is a shame really as Vauxhall make some very nice looking cars ... but what turns most people off the cars is the name - VAUXHALL. The only car I've heard the press like is the new VX220 Turbo. All the others don't get a look in like in other countries.

I like Opel and the Opel badging as it reminds me of German cars. German cars such as Porsche, Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz etc. I know other countries have Opel badging, but it's the German cars that swings it for me. I'm going for German DTM styling on my car, which is why I've purchased DTM BK Racing 299's. Opel badging only makes sense for me. Opel badging being OPC badges back and sides, and the Opel OPC grill on the front. The only reason I'm going for OPC badging is because I'm going for aggressive styling ... and aggressive styling suits an aggressive badge.

I have an Irmscher grill on at the moment, but it looks a little too plain for me, which is why I want a badged grill again. The V grill in no way going back on, but the Opel OPC one is.

Opel Astras are made in Luton along with Vauxhall Astras ... so what the hell!

    Just personal taste mate.
