    Fat bumpers and speed humps...

    ...dont mix I know :?

Where I live, the main road is ridden with those pink, but softer kinda humps (not the concrete ones I dont think) and Im kinda worried that me fat bumper+splitter (not added on yet) is gonna scrape!!

Does anyone know if I slapped on a set of 17's, would this be enough ground clearance for the majority of humps around at the mo? I have a MK4 Astra on 16's at the mo.

    Cheers

17''s won't make any diffrence to your ride hight, the radius of the wheel will remain the same

my astra has the reiger kit (very fat and low), and its on 18"s, havent much speed humps here but when i go to uni, theres a sh*tload of them to mount before i can park, I've scraped just once and it was the back bumper that hit on the drop-off (that was with 4 people in car)!

its not lowered ofcourse (standard -20mm sxi suspension) but i have scraped the front around town because being on the coast, we have alot of sudden hills to climb that have to be taken at 5mph max, lol

just make sure to go slow over them and you shouldnt have much problems. and if its the long, wide humps, (can get whole car on before it drops off other end) they are no problem at all!

One you get splitters and stuff you have to start to avoid speed bumps , when i get my coilovers and slam the car I will have to take car with just a standard bumper.

one of my mates has a mk4 on 18's lowered 60mm on koni coilovers front and 40 mm springs / dampers rear, and he's had no trouble with speed bumps, standard bumpers though. he can't go anywhere near multistorey car parks though, bumpers hit the ramps !!

I drive a Astra Coupe and its been lowered on Koni's 30mm front and rear atm, and it doesn't normally have problems with speed bumps (only a select few). What 18's is your friend running?. Got any pictures?
