    How low should I go...

I am thinking of buying a set of 18" Dare X1 alloys. My car is a mk4 astra sxi. Should I lower it by 35 or 40mm, or would it look ok with the sxi suspension.

    what do ya think?

18's and not lowered??? It will look a bit wierd matey.

The thing is the SXI has a lower suspension set-up from the factory than the basic models like mine (LS) so when i lowered mine 40mm it looked a lot better but only a bit lower than an SXI if you get me?

I'm gonna go for 60mm on my 17's very soon! My kit will not last 5 minutes when it goes on though  But *** it! lol

Nice choice of wheels though One of my faves.

    Go for 40mm i rekon(for now)

    Cheers alan mk4,

I have got the irmsher kit on it at the minute, but am looking for an astrasri rear valance. Should look quite good with big wheels and lowered.

What lowering springs do you recommend?

Good old Manchester!! Come on you reds!!!

Cant afford the wheels or springs until July, so I will probably get the wheels and suspension done at the same time
