Back again and here's the LED lights subject again, sorry!

Hi. Anyone who was interested in the LED footwell lights in the last forum can you PM me please? I obviously lost all the PMs when the old forum died and I don't know who wanted them or not.

These are the UV LEDs, but I can do them in most LED colours.

Nuttynovas, I remember, I've got the white LEDs in now, so let me know when you want a set. I can't remember if you got my address for sending a cheque or not now

Howellsy, I made these to fit my Astra MK4, but they could be fitted anywhere that you can find a flat, insulated surface under the footwell.
They wire in parallel to a single feed from your existing interior lights circuit, so they are protected by that fuse and switched when the interior light come on.

Well it sounds and looks very good. I'd love a set of blues to go with my blue dash lights but they sound very complicated!

They are a doddle mate!! Two wires, colour coded, you connect onto the supply to the front interior light. Feed these down to the centre console area and fit the connector block, then connect the colour coded wires to the LED array, black to black etc. Once the LED arrays are screwed down the job is done

What about maybe wiring them into the headlight switch so they glow all the time your headlights are on ?

    Would that be possible ?

And also could you get them to dim the same way the dash can ?

That would be sweet then (infact if you could figure all that and give good instructions then i'll have a set)

There is no reason why you can't wire the LEDs into the feed for the dash lights, so that they operate when the headlights come on. Two problems though!

    1. Some of you have already changed the dash illumination to LEDs so will know of this problem, the LEDs will dim to some degrees, but below a certain voltage they will blink out, as they need a minimum voltage to light. Not a big problem, but one to be aware of when fitting LEDs in dimmer controlled circuits

    2. To wire into the dimmer circuit for the dash lights you'd need to take the dash apart to find out which wires to tap into from the dimmer control. You can get a basic circuit diagram from a Haynes manual, but I don't want to wire my lights like that, so I ain't taking me dash to bits to find out how to do it, to write the instructions!

Sorry Skuzzle, you'll have to work it out and do the how-to for everyone
