yet again something has gone wrong.
i went to put the key in the ignition barrel today but when i did it would not turn at all:confused: , i sprayed WD40 in the hole and still no turning, i wanted till it cooled down as it was very hot and the metal might of got bigger but still no.
the key looks fine and i don't have a spare.
so anyone had this prob b4??????
just in case i looked up fitting a new lock cylinder and it said i have to put the key in and turn to the first part (after i take it all apart) but if this is what i need to change and this is how to change it, how the f**k is that pos. i don't think VX are that bright.
cheers 4 any help i get.

If you can't get your key to fit the lock no more you will have to scoop all the ignition pins out. This will take a while as I have seen it done when we have had to change barrels at the garage. You will have to dig all the ingition out with a screw driver. Only other way I think you may be able to sort this is by getting your key number cut at Vauxhall. Then try the new key. I would probably just let Vauxhall sort it out. Good luck

I just remembered the Astra Mk4 ignition is different from the Mk3 barrel. Don't do the above I said about taking all the pins out. The ignition on the Mk4 is plastic. It can be snapped too easy.

Err... I know this may be obvious, but are you sure the steering lock hasn't come on? You need to turn the wheel slightly to allow the key to turn. If it isn't this, then I can't help.
