has anyone ever remover the aircon condenser, i have a coupe turbo which means removing the bumper, cooling fan and the intercooler.
i need a new condenser and local garage want £230 for the part and labour.
are any special tools needed for the aircon pipes?
is there any problems regarding the removal of the intercooler?
any advise welcome

you will need to get it drained first but the problem is that when you drain the r134a it then puts the system in to a vacumn so becareful when disconnecting the pipes

Chances are if the condensor is at fault there will be no gas in the system anyway so you won't need to worry about that.
All the connections use standard tools I believe but there are o rings to seal the pipes that need oil on them and you have to make sure you use the right oil

why would it produce a vacuum mate? if it is drained then there will be 0 pressure in the pipelines, dont see where the vacuum would come from.

The vacuum is caused when they suck the old gas out

do all the astras use the same pump??? think mines ****ed as well!!!

In this months issue of Total Vauxhall its got a few pages all about Air-Con and all the bits that go with it, and all about re-gassing and so on, maybe that will help?
