i just fitted my smic from regal today and i went on a road test and something not right.
1st, if i put my foot down the dv sounds til i change gear, so after about 3-3500revs i get the dv noise none stop.
plus when the car is idle it shakes a bit, when i drive it's fine but when i stop at the light or whatever (in gear or not) the car shakes,
has anybody got a clue about this????
cheers

i ahve an astra turbo coupe 2001 by the way
I would chech that you have reconnected the DV correctly including the vacuum pipe.
Other than that, Check for any leaks etc. around the new installation of the intercooler and anything else you removed to fit it.

ai as above :) ^^^ sounds like the dump valve isnt being held closed. Vacuum hose reconnected? If the DV is open on idle the car will be juddering because its close to stalling? Running mega rich from lack of air getting into the chambers. Apart from that Dunno :P

OE or aftermarket DV?
As you have just fitted a new intercooler and I assume that the problem only occured afterwards I'd advise you to recheck your work esspecially the air hoses and the cooler it's self for leaks.
I hope you have plugged in the map sensor after moving it from 1 cooler to the other!
could be the a hose was not tight and blown off??

it's a bailys dv,
and the only pipe i disconnected ne the dv was the power pipe, at the bottom next to the sensor, and that one is fine,
it did take a while to get the pipe on to the bottom of the turbo, could that of come loose??

wouldnt explain why the DV is staying open. Has the piston seized? Take it out and try with OE one

If the EDS FMIC creates a pressure drop, this could be causing the Bailey to leak. Best throw it in the nearset bin and go back to the OE DV. (That is what I did).

but the dv does still work, once i hit about 3-3500revs the dv sounds until i change gear then it make the normal noise, so it does work, plus it all sounds good when driving, sound like a loud supercharger.

say it is one of the air hoses, is it still ok to drive????
would it do any harm???
cause i'm off out later in the car all night, plus it does sound really good.

either that or get it serviced and run both the bailey and OEM as the car needs the OEM readings
also double check the thin hose from the end of the DV is connected at both ends as it may have worked loose when fiddling with the powerpipe

well i've been in the car all night and done around 80 miles and i had a full tank (238 on the display) and now it says 235),
so that say i've done 3 miles but i've done about 80
but on the clocks it say i only have 3/4 tank left????????????????????
which one is right and what the hell does that mean
