I'd go for the milltek though... may cost more but its the only exhaust that offers 2.5" bore throughout the whole system...

As above - if money is no object the miltec is the better option - theres a 2" pipe on the normal sports cats that can be cut out and replaced with a 2.5 - according to john at coutenay this can be done and the 2.5" section can release 5 horses and bring the torque figure up - i have the 2" small section on the sports cat and you can hear the exhaust working as hard as it can under full load - the 2" pipe section in question is only about 6 inches in length and joins to the centre section of the 2.5" exhaust but this is the restriction that milteks dont have

Also to add to that. Turbo cars don't only benefit from a free flowing exhaust but another main restriction is the diameter of exhausts. Having your exhaust go down to 2" is not the best way to gain power.

the stainless exhast i have may be 2.5 i cant remember but theres a section on the sports cat itself that goes down to 2" - its this pipe that mates to the 2.5 inch systems centre section thats the problem - the miltek one doesnt have the 2" pipe on the cat - its 2.5 all the way

You can get the full system for about £866 from demon tweeks. Thats the pre cat, sports cat (best quality on market) and cat back exhaust. Milltek is also vauxhall aproved....

It may be an idea to have a custom exhaust built, I had a custom 3.5" catback system, for faster flow, and has given me fantastic results.

As for the sports cat, Ive been told not to bother unless your aiming above 260bhp, just get the courtney front pipe, that adds 5bhp alone.

i was only thinking of taking her up to about 250, hoping that an intercooler, remap and zorst will get me some where near that figure.

i am going to ring a guy in newcastle to get a price for a custom ss job,
i no the answer is probabley yes, but would a irmsher b box restrict a 2.5 system.

cheers:D

The sports CAT still gives about 5-8 bhp on a standard car. It does make a difference.

When i was down at Courtenay's last year to get the car re-maped John asked me if i had a sport's cat on the car which i didn't. He told me since i didn't have 1 he could not get the best performance out of the car when mapping it due to this.:( The standard cat is very restrictive especialy after 250bph. In the end i bought the milltek cat from John at a very good price and did notice a diffrence after it was fitted.:)
