you can fit them easy if you want oe ones its a hardish job as you need to mount a sensor under the rear bumper but its all plug an play mate

More to the point, how much is it for a pair of genuine tinted units? There are some for sale on Ebay, but I can't tell if they are tinted versions, OEM or aftermarket versions - seller seems to indicate they are made by the same people who supply Vx.
Here they are....

They are not plug and play as far as I know, I contacted Vauxhall, and they told me the looms are totally different, EPC confirmed this.
It looked a bitch of a job when I looked into it.
Anything is possible, but I would be very interested to see if anyone has done it.

i done it on a astra g sri turbo
and the looms just pluged in
90% of it was plug an play once the power was sorted
and the sensor under the rear bumper
i used power packs from the vectra b and astra g lights
I've just done this on the Astra G Danny and I can tell you it's definetely NOT plug and play. The engine loom is VERY different, Xenons have no external wiring, it's all inside the lights, there is a large block connector on the base and another on the back of the light. The normal loom has nothing even remotely like it.
You don't need the rear bumper sensor as you can adapt the normal motor used on normal headlights to alter the level. It's taken me 6 months to do mine and I can honestly say now it's been done it would take a lot less to do, however it is expensive as the HID bulbs and ballasts can be over £200 on their own.

That sounds like a nightmare so I won't be bothering with Xenons!! I only really want the tinted look, so I'll probably just get a couple of spare standard lamp units to attempt the darkened look rather than take out the lamps already on the car.

ken when we did it was plug an play as i know some one that was selling the kits made up
it can be done plug an play remember the car i fitted it to was built by me an a few friends it was made with that loom
If you had the loom Danny then yes it would be a lot easier. However I dread to think what Vx would charge for the loom.

a lot i would say got any pics of the lights fitted ken  that you got them working now
Going on this weekend Danny, both dip and main are now Xenons. I had a set of H7 Xenons I'd bought for my coupe lights and never got round to fitting so I thought I may as well convert the main beam on the Gsi lights whilst I was doing the conversion.
