Just bought an Apexi turbo timer off ebay, quite cheap as well, £63 all in brand new. Its got 2 wires that go to ignition 1 and 2 positions. I'll meter these when I get to them but does anyone know the colours I should be looking for from the barrel and how best to access them. Couple more questions:
Where is it easiest to pick up oxygen sensor wires?
Does the install affect the alarm, ie can you arm while engine running?

The car daesn't have a position 1 as such but the vauxhall asseccory wire is RED

From what I remember all other wires are Black apart from the starter wire thats Black/red

From what I can remember, the main incoming power to the key switch is red, then all the outgoing ones that you are concerned with are black wires (sorry!)

A case of getting a sharp pin to spike into the wires and a multimeter to find the right ones :?

Cheers Steve. All black wires then  , just have to see which one goes live at each ignition step.
Does anyone know anything about oxygen sensor wire colours and best place to pick em up.

If I can wire up to this it gives me the 'full auto' functionality, so it adjusts the wind down time depending on previous driving...... I think :? , and some other trick features, or I could just not be such a tart and set a time.

Legoman i might be interested in getting a timer myself one day maybe you should make a install guide :)

The auto run down function doesn't work on my car. It works by monitoring the engine RPM, but I couldn't get it to work on the Astra, because the timer needs to pick up the spark signal in the wiring. The Z20LET uses on-plug coils, so this can't be detected. It's not a major problem, I just set my timer for 2 minute rundown and it does me fine
