my head unit never keeps its settings and every thing is wired in properly! any ideas please :? :? :idea: ?
Are you sure you have the permenant supply for the hjead unit connected to a permenant supply in the car (ie. constant 12V), sounds to me as if you may have this permenant supply for the head unit hooked up to a switched live (ie. switched on when ignition is on)

yea two turns on the ignition and it comes on. it only saves it for about 8 seconds, had it all out yesterday couldnt find any thing wrong!
What head unit have you got is it an after market one or a standard factory one

Ive got a Pionner single cd head unit. it saved the settings in my Fiesta so its the wiring some where.
ITs more than likely that you just have to swap over the switch and permenant lives, not sure what the colours of these are, but i would imagine that the permenant live is red and the switched live is yellow or orange, or both possibly
You could go to a pioneer dealer and ask them for an adaptor that would allow you to put whatever model of pioneer you have into your astra, thus eliminating the need to swap over wires

Had the same problem with my Pioneer. Take the Red and Yellow feeds and swap them. Plug the car yellow into the stereo red and vice-versa. This will sort out you settings for you. :D
