i know they say 57mm is best way 2 go, but im have 51mm on fmic before n all was fine.

for upto and around 280-300bhp it should be fine, which is around stable ph3 power so dont see why not. Going to be tight fit though

my only concern is the 140mm height, seen as normally they 180mm, so may aved 2 make some brakets, plus will get 2 x 8" fans as dan has told me this is best way, rather than mess around with OE fan, plus frees up space.
he may sell me his spare ones as not having his fmic as i got a free one8)
if your pipe work is all 51 then there is no point havin a 57mm cooler
if you can afford it go for 57mm all the way through or even better 63mm

the fmic hes giving me has 2" outlets, so cud modify the turbo to i/c pipe for that side and other side i buying a 90 degree pipe with sensor boss, which is 51mm to meet up with my courtenay boost hose
so if im looking at ph3 , i was hoping all ok, he says the fmic he got upto 500@18psi, so i presume as u come down bhp the psi goes up:confused:

the eds sidemount and the pace fmic are 51mm and they makes great power so the piping will fit
It'll be fine on 51mm matey.
If the cooler is not quite as tall as the one that is normally used, why not try to mount it lower down and this will give you more space for fans etc.
Just a thought!

Have a look at my thread with the front mount I fit with a friend, its got 57mm outlets and Ive used 51mm piping through out. its fit perfect on the coupe and the most of the cooler is exposed to the air unlike the larger height coolers other people use. should help you out looking at the photos mate. :)

cheers, done 2 b4, but this time gona get rid of oe fan and use 2 7.5" spal fans, plus am using a 145 high fmic instead of 180mm this time, the hardest thing is getting 888 bumper off

Isn't the outlet on the turbo only about 51mm (2") anyway? so it wouldn't cause any problems having that size piping all the way through, probably make it a nice smooth flow!

well front is off waiting for m8 2 pop up the fmic sometime over wken or next wk, just took fan off as well.
my fans r too small bought 7.5" spal fans x2, gona try it 2 see if will be ok on setup now, if not then its gona b 2 x 9" ones i fink
gona use the oe ic to turbo hose and cannabilise that as is 51mm iirc
