petrol smell

Hi, when i had the heaters on the other day trying 2 demist the windows i cud smell petrol does anyone know wot this cud be. any info wud be most appreciated thanx. Mitch

try doing the fuel cap up, if its anything like mine it wants to jump off the car.

Leaking or split engine breather pipe could cause fumes to get in the car. Have a look under the bonnet at the two pipes that come from the back of the rocker cover as they split.

I have recently been experiencing the same issue with my astra G.... its driving me mad (and getting me high lol).

Will look for split breather pipes at weekend.... let us know what you find though

hopw it's not but smell the coolant it could be your head gasket!

its more than likely the fuel filler cap coming undone

I had the petrol smell for ages and could'nt work out where it was comming from until i took the car for an mot and it was found to have a rusty leaking fuel filter. Filter changed and now no smell.:cheesy:
