I have just read my ecu and have fault code P0560 which i believe is system voltage malfunction.
Any idea what this could be related to and what it means??

wiring, poor connection, battery or alternator is the definitions given! first id remove the battery terminals and give the terms and the round clamps a real good rubbing down with some sand paper, charge the battery and reconnect putting some petrolium jelly on the contacts to stop them going furry! see how that does and let us know!

it means your voltage has dpropped below the minimum threshhold which is around 10volts either fron a bad connection or a flat battery!

Thanks for your reply mate.
This is my story.
I was driving home tonight and the rear window was steamed up.

Put the heated screen on and the button wouldnt light up, assumed a fuse may have gone or similar. Also noticed dash lights dimmer than usual and then the headlights flashing.

The battery light and engine management light then came on then turned off then the power steering went. I pulled over and revved the car and still no power steering.

Turned off the engine and went to restart and it wouldnt turn over, tried a couple more times with no luck. Sat there for a minute or 2 thinking what to do. Tried to start the car again and it started fine and got me home with no issues.

Last week i noticed headlights flashing and then it was ok so thought no more about it.

I have had issues recently with the starter motor failing so that was replaced, also earlier in the year the battery was replaced.

I had issues with the power steering going whilst driving back in September and had it plugged into fault code reader which brought up low voltage input code and was advised to have the alternator replaced, which i had done.

Could it be a dodgy earth strap?
I have recently had a new alternator and had a new battery a few months ago.

try a new earth strap and clean the terminals up on the battery and the clamps that connect to the battery! more than likly to be the battery clamps not making a good contact as it sounds like its loosing all battery power! i would of said check the voltage regulator on the alternator but if its a new one it should be ok! check the connections first mate!

follow the wire back from the negative terminal and it will somewhere bolt to the bodywork! there will be one from the engine block to the bodywork also! get yer bonnet up and take a peek about! its not something i have ever looked for so i cant point you straight to them!8)
