Am still running a standard vx panel filter in my 2.2 box. Does the uprated ones make that much differece to the smoothness of the car.
eg: courtenay KN filters.
If its woth while upgarding which one shall i go for???

Any performance filter will do :)
Go for the courtenays one as its reasonably priced, although saying that KnN ones are sub 40 quid.
If you get a KnN one wipe off the excess oil before fitting it.
Wasting money,it's crap.I have two turbo cars and didn't notice any diference in hp,sound,......Your choice
Not bothered in BHP and sound, Just going to try one to is if it makes the engine smoother under accelaration.
My car is a bit jurky and i have changed AFM and both solinods to see if it was that so going to try the panel filter.,
Going to get one from courtney sport as am running a 2.2 airbox i persume i need a 2.2 filter as am sure the z20let ones are a different size am i right????
Yep, you need a specific one for the 2.2 air box Kev - it's a different size to all other Mk4 ones :)

I have used courtenays (http://www.astraownersclub.com/vb/autolink.php?id=8&script=showthread&forumid=135) in a 2.0 na and a 2.0 turbo and as said be4 no noise or power differce many be a little smoother but might just be all in the mind but the courtenays (http://www.astraownersclub.com/vb/autolink.php?id=8&script=showthread&forumid=135) 1 you can wash and use again as a k&n 1 is paper
K&N's are cotton - not paper, and you can clean and reuse them just the same as the Courtenays/PiperX foam ones
The courtenay one does look a better quality the K&N filter, We can buy it and see what happens.
Wouldn't surprise me if the Courtenay one is a re-branded K&N....?
Courtenay is a rebranded PiperX - so you were close Chris :)
