Guys

Got z20 LET turbo which has bout 20k on clock. its been running brilliantly till now...

I got in the car to go gym, let it warm up for like 1 min and 30 secs, while driving it, i pulled up at lights, and realised it was smoking...i thought hmmm...i then got to the gym and left it running for a while, was smoking a lil bit, but then it stopped smoking...
i even accelerate to bout 4000rpms, and no smoke came out...so i then let it cooled down for like 2mins, then shut off...I had check the oil 30mins later, and it was a quater left in sump from reading on dipstick...i put some in for now, to bout 3/4, same oil that is in the car...and left it for like an hour while I trained...
When finished, i started it, and big puff of smoke came out...and let it run for a bit, but it werent smoking...i then drove to cash machine, and when i was outside car leaving it running, starts smoking a bit..i got in, accelarated it, but it didnt smoke...drove up to the lights, and pulled up, it smoked a bit...when i got home...i left it running, and it werent smoking...

now my mate whos a mechanic, vauxhall specialist seems to think not to worry, it may be just a surge of pressure in the oil. what do you guys reckon...i also forgot to say, it desperately needs oil filter change as well, which i am doing on sunday along with gearbox oil...

any ideas guys regarding smoke

i forgot to mention, it kind of happened a while ago when the temperatures dropped a bit after clubbing, but 15miles home, it stopped...

Sounds to me like the turbo oil seals are going, first off change the oil and filter, just use vauxhall 10/40w oil & filter and see if it helps a little with the situation, also while you are doing that check all the breather pipes for blockages. if its the turbo it will only get worse and start drinking oil so keep an eye on it every week. :)

A Few Tips Which May Help

Smoke On Idle = Turbo Seals Or Breather Pipes
Smoke On Overun = Valve Stem Oil Seals
Smoke On Full Throttle Or Boost = Piston Rings

it may be a blockage, cuz its not smoking no more now...its weird lol...i think im going to attempt change oil and oil filter tomorrow etc...ive never done it before...guess first time for everything ... its going to my mechanic shortly anyways, been on the phone to him, he sed not to worry so much, he dont think its the turbo...but when it gets to him, he will check it up, check for blockages etc
