Its looking more and more likely that the oil seals are dead on my vxr turbo, so its going to be a repair on the unit or buy a new one.
Have been in contact with a few companies who are able to repair the turbo but would it be worth going for a hybrid unit?
Has anyone gone down this route of a hybrid turbo on the zlet engine??
Just waiting to hear back to see if they are able to re-build the unit to hybrid upgarde so will keep you guys informed on the outcome.

I recon it would release plenty more horses!!
Back in the day when I had an Escort S1 turbo I put a Garrett T3 stage 3 hybrid on, OMG it was crazy!! The turbo was on the large size (plenty of lag) but the power difference over the standard T3 was massive!

I cant understand everyone's saying they don't like lag. I know its not exactly the best thing, but I love going in a big turbo'd car, nothing, nothing, nothing, arrrrrrrrrr wtf!!!!!!!!!! lol love it

Is that a zlet turbo? How much was it to get done?

Its the Dbilas cast manifold with the KKK modified race turbo as sold by regals. The manifold aids with more equal lengths and taking the pressure away from the vulnerable number 3 cylinder. The turbo has modified internals for stronger and longer boost. IT can also be run on normal VXR or any of the phase maps but with better longevity and more overheads for protection. RRP on the turbo is £1100 and the manifold is £545.
thats all the info i have on it
yes its a std vxr turbo to start off with
