Hi there unfortunately its come for my time to post my 1st thread on the problem side of things.....

I have 2000 Astra Coupe 2.0 ltr turbo

Courtenay Stage 4 290bhp

not to familiar with turbo engines but what im noticing is that when im slowing down (take my foot off the gas pedal) i hear a long and constant tshhhhhh sound like the DV is left open and letting out pressure possibly until i accelerate again.....cant tell if its the DV as it only does it while driving; slowing down. Also i dont have to hit boost for it to happen. I do have the baileys DV fitted and im not too sure if the spring has been removed on the OE DV. Hope some of you can shine a light on the matter for me:mrgreen:

Also.....haha........ while im here, my EML the one that looks like a engine block not the spanner one came on code was P0420 catalyst bank 1 sensor 1 brought a new lambda sensor fitted it last thurs, yesterday it came back on gonna tech2 it later on today im putting my money on its gonna give me the same code and say its the lambda sensor again if it does then its gonna be one of those scratch ya head moments...........gonna see if its a earthing problem, whether thers a voltage while im on the tech2 later. ill post an update later about the lambda sensor.

My main worry is the sound the cars making and whether its suppose to make it 8)

Cheers all

Your Baileys may well be leaking, might be worth taking it out and plugging the holes to see if it helps. I would personally remove the whole baileys dump valve and throw it in the nearest bin but thats a whole world of threads on that.

Remove the Baily DV and go back to standard and see what happens.

Is the post cat sensor the same as pre cat or diff if so u not wat part number it would be for my LET engine? removing the dV as we speak to hopefully tht will cure the noise

cheers all

I get the same code on my turbo, and it is because i have fitted a sports cat. If you have fitted a sports cat as well, then don't waste your money buying another lambda, as it's probably fine.
I spoke to courtenay about the code, and they confirmed that with a sports cat the problem does arise. It is because the thresholds the sensors work with a really tight, hence when you put the sports cat on, it can sometimes let too much fuel through, hence tripping the sensor.
i bought a code reader from lmf, as it allows me to not only read the codes, but erase them. My cat has been on for over a year, and i have used the reader at least seven times!

Ya i do have a sports cat, thou when hooking up to a snap on diagnostic tool and read the voltages while reving the car the voltages on 2nd lambda sensor didnt change.....thou it was at first then after idling for like 2mins and reving it didnt change so could b sports cat playing it or loose connection but im gonna take it off give it a eye over possibly clean it with some white spirit or petrol as some ppl have done and check the connection and refit it if the light comes on again then ill replace it maybe, jus found the part number for it on net. Thx LMD
