View Full Version : VXR AMM with CS4 + all the goodies?

just looked into a CS4 upgrade but with replacing my AMM as i think its suspect to being faulty. of course it'll have the injectors too and a better panel air filter.
ok now the questions,
1, is it worth it power wise?
2, can i revert back to a normal AMM if i have problems with the VXR type?
3, anyone upgraded from a CS4 -> adding a VXR AMM and if so is there proof that it works better?

I was running stage 1 software and my zlet AFM died on me. Phoned Regal and they done custom VXR AFM software to run along side my stage 1 software.
THE DIFFERENCE WAS MASSIVE!!
Car was stronger and with more torque even though only on stage 1.
Have now fitted vxr turbo and pre cat, with injectors to go on and have my car booked in @ regal for stage 3.5
Mate of mine is running stage 3 and I keep up with ease.... and beat him most of the time :D

really! looks like i'll be adding another £800 to the mods bill within the next 2 months then, done £500 over the past 2x :eek: though i'm sure thats gona be where the moddifications will stop :cry:

The VXR airflow meter has to be mapped in, you cant just put one on.......reverse is the same, if you want to go back to a ZLET item then youll need to have the map changed to accomodate this.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but what if you DONT have a VXR turbo but u have the VXR injectors, AMM, full exhaust, intercooler etc etc yada yada ... can u get a Regal/Courtenay 2.5 map?
IE: Not a 3 cos it doesnt have the uprated turbo, but more than a 2 cos it has the VXR injectors and AMM?

Not the be all and end all I know but what BHP/torque figures were you getting with this?
A CS4 Bus would be the biz MM!
I have a set of injectors for sale if you need them.
Im going up there 2moro to have CS4 high torque map put on the car.

I'm hoping to move up to CS4 some time in the summer/autumn. If you have the upgrade soon we will have to see how they compare.. :)

I can definetly recommend phase 4. Spent the morning up at Courtenays having the work carried out and the rest of the day enjoying driving it.
The car feels so much more alive and is alot smoother. Plus it sounds like a rocket when you press the loud pedal:lol:
The final power figures were: 280bhp @ 5271 with 340Nm @3193
The mechanic said it was slightly down on power due to it being a hot day[was around 23degrees]. But the torque was really good.
Big thanks to Courtenay for sorting it all out and the great customer service i recieved

i guess te rocket will be the increased boost. glad to hear that ur pleased with the results, can you do me a favour and let me know how it goes on fuel for the next week or so. (i know its gona be difficult trying to stay off the loud pedal) :lol:
i got my VXR injectors almost ready for posting (funds being sorted 2mora) i guess the idea of CS4 has been given a shove into serious ;)
whats 340nm in pound shillings and pence?

Think you will have to leave it with them for a few days to do all that. Do courtenays fit the diff themselves? or send it to Quaife for them to fit it in the gearbox.
To change the clutch and flywheel took me about 6-7 hours that was with a ramp and 2 of us doing it. loads of seazed bolts
