so then peeps, whats long term running been like? any probs? how many clutches and afm's :D do you loose traction control completly? how many miles have you covered with this turbo fitted?
basically has it been a good mod long term? i hear stories about eating uprated clutches? turbo's not lasting? wheel spin 1st 2nd and 3rd, and clutch ride in 4th 5th?
seeing as there is a group buy, i want to justify buying a vxr unit :)
cheers

mines been on for about a year and a half. 12k miles. ive only owned it for just over a month though. and yeah i do get wheel spin in 1st 2nd and 3rd if i floor it. traction control seems to kick in quite often.
i love it though :D
mine has been on for 9 months now, covered a max of 3k but not had any trouble with the clutch or anything, get wheel spin in 1st + 2nd and sometimes third depending on how much i push it but traction control soon plays a part and decides what it wants to do! :p

same here really!
my main concern is how long does it last? my z20let turbo unit is playing up big time at the moment, i was thinking of buying the leh turbo and fitting kit from lmf, but this is going to be a big saving buying in the group buy.

had mine over a yr, done bout 9k. no problems reported this end
if ya just changing the turbo then you wont get any of the abovr as in wheel spin etc or clutch probs as it just a replacement you wont get much or any extra horses just by replacing the turbo

yeah thats very true. mine also had the actuator, airbox, and exhaust upgraded. and it had a remap. so thats what probably made the difference.

I got my VXR Turbo fitted, end of October Last year, clocked up about 4k miles and its fine, its on standard map with Miltek Catback Zorst. Only changed as standard manifold snapped in two!
Got it fitted at Courtenay and had no problems with it at all!

mines fine, bin on over a year done 6k on it nah love it! regal do say its a must! map with a vxr turbo!
std map runs the vxr turbo no probs its only the internals that are slightly different allowing it to spall up quicker than std let, lets be honest here the main reasonm why 99% of us fitted a vxr 1 is coz it cheaper than let one and you dont get any more power from it on a std map
your fuel consumption wont change brucy coz you set the vxr unit to the same as your let unit, unless ur getting mapped aswell
or you get new lead fillled right foot
well this is that aswell jay :cheesy:
had mine fitted 18months ago done about 18-20k, been runing eds stage 3 ever since, still on the factory afm and clutch!!!! still waiting for the clutch to go then i will uprate it. but all fine at present.

7000 mls and three oil changes and its screwed so its going back to courtenay asap for a new one as its still under warranty! after 7 months you wouldnt think the bearings would of given up would you! kkk turbos are cheap and nasty crap! you get what you pay for! at the end of the day £450 for a turbo says it all really! NAF NAF NAF!!!:mad2: :mad2: :mad2:

it would be rude not too remap it :D and boot it! lol
i wish i could afford to throw petrol at it, it would be fun! but filling the goverments pocket with soon to be £1.50 a litre petrol dont sound good:( so wrong. maybe a passenger ride would over look this?? :)

or maybe it's time to convert to a diesel:question: more miles for your money although it is the same price near enough
