View Full Version : Main cat replacement...worth it??
hey guys, ive currently got a milltek pre-cat and cat back system fitted to my gsi as at the time i couldnt afford the whole system, but now i can afford to buy a sports cat. i was just wondering whether its worth it. would i notice much more power/noise as they are quite expensive and dont want to spend the money if it wouldnt really be worth it!

Unless your going over 280 odd bhp I wouldnt bother

I thought long and hard about this too. When I eventually bought one it made a very small difference to the car. Like when I did the top hat mod, just gives it a small edge

as lee said really if you want big bhp go for one 8)
i got one as it was cheaper too at the same time as getting the rest of the exhuast done! i will have mods to match soon tho!
so basically it sounds like i may aswell stick with what i have now!! would it make much of a difference to the noise though or would that basically be the same aswell? would it get any louder??

I have the full system an it is Louder then the std cat on the car I like the sound it makes
GSI_Butch had a cat back and precat done on his GSi and with the airbox mods, the Courtenay FMIC and a remap achieved 253BHP, so it's probably not as restrictive as you think!
