Since i had my sports cat put on my z20let ive had the engine light on the dash. first diagnostics said sumet with the o2 sensor readings, so, to much oxygen passing through not being burnt up. We thort ok lets get it re-mapped and they can adjust the fuelling etc etc.

But no, re-map done n car is rapid compared to before but light still comes on.

Now it turns out its the Lambda Sensor on the pre-cat (which hasnt been swapped/changed from standard as yet!)

Is this a common part to fail? i hadnt heard of one being knackered until now.

The garage is telling me should be fine to use the car but not forever, wot dya reckon?

Anyone any ideas on what price i should be expecting? Im only putting genuine vx one back in tho as i have heard copies can be bad news.

cheers

Well firstly if it goes into limp mode thats not good as this is only designed to get you to a garage, secondly it burns a lot more fuel, having the car remapped some of the engine limiters will have been taken out so get it done as soon as:wink:, they are expensive around 60 to 70 i do believe i'm sure someone on here will know:redface:

Well, the car doesnt feel like theres something wrong with it other than the fuel gauge is dropping @ shocking speeds compared to normal, i did 30-40 mile on 1/4 tank the other day driving like an old woman!!! (no offence to old women of course lol)

My mate works in parts @ Arnold Clark n hes gettin me one for £77.55, does that sound bout right to anyone?
