What stage of boost are you running? I think that you need to be running quite high boost to get more than a fart from a turbo smart dv. Iirc they also have a flange that needs to be fitted by welding or bolting on.

I think that you will have exactly the same running issues as with a Bailey one though - but less sound.

im going ot be heading for a CS4 in the end,

so the baileys are ok to use then. will get the one with trumpet instead of the std one

Bailley's DV's are fine. You will get pretty much the same running issues from ANY aftermarket dump valve, it's just the Bailleys one for a long time has been the one the majority of people put on their Z20LET's.

A lot of the problems stem from where you plumb in the vacuum pipe. Whatever you do, don't plumb it into where the OE dump valve vacuum goes to (inlet manifold). Do it off the fuel rail/pressure regulator and you will get much reduced running problems.

I wouldn't do that either, I had one when I had CS4 and they sound crap - very metallic. You are better off with the DV26.

If you want some noise, go for the SSQV.
