just picked up my new zafira sri and found it has no power to the accessory socket between the centre console, it appears this is standard?
Whats the easiest way of getting this socket wired up? Any help appreciated.

If it is there it should work. Get an auto electrician to look at it

Welcome to the site!
Which model zaf do you have , A or the newer B?
If you are referring to the ciggy lighter in the centre console, I think the ignition will need to be on in order for it to work, not sure on zaffy B's though.

refer to post number 2. Or take the panels out and see if it is connected yourself. A lot of VX cars have harnesses already in place and just need connecting up when extra features are enabled

removed panel and socket is connected to a plug with a brown and a red wire to it. A circuit tester shows a current flowing for a split second each time contact is made but then no more. there is a seperate black wire which is just taped back, it looks as though the socket should work but does not. Please any help would be great!

hello buddy,
ive got a 55 zaf b sri and i do a lot of camping and can certainly say that all points, including the one in the boot all work fine bud. i'd get it back to the dealer matey, get them to sort it. ive been back with mine around 3 times with a few of problems.

What he says really ^^^
If its a zaf B then i would imagine its still under warranty so get it back to the dealer.
Hi,
just want to ressurect this thread.
I'm picking my 57 Zafira up this weekend and when noseying around the car before buying I asked about the blanking plate at the rear of the centre console.
Usual salesman - no brains. Says that it is just the cover and pops it off, but it was definetly void of any 12v socket.
There is one in the boot area but i would like to get one in there too.
Can anyone confirm that the wiring exists in the B Zaf and it is just a case of inserting a socket?
I found this thread over on Vauxhall Owners Network which seems to suggest that it is.

Seems a ludicrous money saving act on vauxhalls part if it is.

Just wondering if you ever found the wiring behind the 2nd row console blanking plate to wire up the power socket? I popped mine off last night and got stuck in with my finger but couldn't find any wires. Are they taped up further back in the console?

Did anyone suss this as its the same on my 57 plate Design.
Cheers
Scott
Did anyone figure this out ?
For the second row accessory socket mine just has the hole and no blanking plate :( I've popped out the whole plastic plate just below the air vents but can't see any wires taped up in side there
Assuming there aren't any pre-installed wires, does anyone know how to remove the console so that I can run some wire to the forward accessory socket ?

Just got a spanking new Exclusiv with said blanking plate over the rear accessory sockey so I popped the whole panel off and behind it was a loom with 3 plugs. One is definitely for the accessory socket so will be fitting that for the kiddies DVD player. There are also two flatter plugs. One is plugged into to a small unit fitted into the back of the panel and one is just loose. I have no idea what these are for but I'm assuming the loose one is for the Auxiliary audio unit which I'm going to put in. The other one that is plugged into the small unit I have no idea what that is if anyone can throw some light on it.
I'll upload some pics later.

Yep loose grey one is for twin audio, the connector should have 9 spaces for pins.
I've come accross that module on a VXR Astra before, cliped into the same place. Only reference I can find is antenna rear inside for the open start module???

Mr A. I come and go on here with my Astras and Zafiras and you never cease to amaze me. Yes my motor has the Start/Stop module with the keyless entry so that explains it.
Ta very much. As usual. :)
