hello
thinking of getting a 2 litre turbo astra coupe 2002
how does this compare to petrol as i have a 1.8 16 valve coupe at the moment.
would it be alot worse?

The fuel consumption's probably nearly the same, I actually get better milage from my turbo than i did with my previous 1.4i 16V, saying that she was a 1999 car.
Its not too bad tbh, if you drive it normally you should get about 30mpg, i think i've had it at 24mpg once, but now i drive a scooby so anything has better mpg than that!

I have a 1.8 astra G and a Zafira Gsi
i get about the same MPG if not better from the Gsi next to the 1.8
not that the 1,8 is a bad car i have had it for 7 years now
an yes your love the Turbo over the 1.8

30mpg is norm for me:cheesy:
Guess it depends if its standard or not! :p Mines running at 293bhp and mines at 25.4mpg atm and I have the lightest right foot in the world..

I still get an average of 30mpg with 360 bhp. But to be honest, if you are worried about the fuel economy then you can't afford one! It will cost you more on insurance and more to maintain than a 1.8. And you will want to tune it once you get used to the power of course.

well its standard at the moment (the one im looking at) thats what i like thow, is that you can easiliy tune turbos if you get bored of the power.
from a 1.8 - a 2 litre turbo, do you think that i will notice a huge difference in power or just a little? as standard?

miles more torque mate and yes you will notice the differance, i did from a 2.2 sri on to the gsi, great fun and dont think it will stay standard for long once you catch the modding bug as its easily contracted!!!

My previous cars consisted of interior and exterior mods, but since i've had the turbo it's only been performance parts and the old faithful alpine headunit. Goodluck there's so much stuff to chose from
