Whinning Noise

Can anyone help me out with this, I've installed a turbo i got of someone on here which is the standard z20let turbo but has the vxr actutator on it, since i have installed the turbo when the car hits boost you get a whinning noise which comes and goes depending how much you accelerate, I thought i might have been the blades in the turbo so i took of the exhaust manifold and check it was sitting strait and not catching which seems fine.

Im out of ideas, is it a duff turbo?

Just had my Corsa CDTI combo van back from vauxhall. When accelerating it makes this really loud screeching noise, volume dependent on how hard you're accelerating.
Turns out it was the exhaust manifold gasket. Thats all! I thought it was a shafted turbo or actuator. They said they were surprised by it.
Mine started out as just alittle whinning and got progressively worse to a loud screech.
Might be the gasket since you will have disturbed it?
