Hi,

Just replaced MAF sensor and changed standard front lights to shark eyes. Before replacing MAF TC light and engine light were both oon permanately.

Changed fine, started car both cleared. Just went to drive car, got 1 mile down the road and engine electronics (Car with spanner through) lit up. A few hundred meters later, got to a roundabout, had to change to first. First is fine, but in 2nd up the car will not drive above 4k, missfires and hesitates. Fine up till then, seems to be making correct boost etc. It will rev freely in neutral though?

I guess if new MAF sensor was faulty (or installed incorrectly) the TC / Engine management light would come back on?

Other than plugs and coilpack, anyone got any idea?

Cheers

Chris

Did u reset the ECU ?
Im guessing not

Disconnect the battery for 30mins and any fault codes should be cleared

where did u get the MAF sensor? i bought 1 off the bay for £50 and it caused same kind of problems! the guy sent me a replacement and same thing happened!!:( so i bought a bosch part and problem solved! lesson learned cheapest not always best!

Got the part from Motor Serv (Parts Factor). Not genuine Bosch part, but they are well known, wouldn't think they sell dodgy stuff?

Resetting the ECU? Tried unhooking the battery, alarm went off? Car wasnt locked, is there something special to do?

the first 1 i got was(allegedly) compatible but must not have been up 2 the job. try and borrow a MAF from another z20let and see if that cures it

Disconnect the battery within 15 seconds of turning off the ignition or try turning the key in the ignition to position 2 and then disconnect battery.

No trouble at all.

I trust you fitted your new AFM the right way round?

Aye, there is only one way it will fit anyway! And the clip facing down.

Looks like that didn't work, may have to see if I can borrow an MAF :(
