Dead easy to remove the top hat, just 4 long bolts that go all the way down thgru the top hat, TB and into the inlet manifold.removal of these bolts would allow you to remove the TB as well for a clean while you are at it.

There aren't gaskets as such between the assemblie but thin rubber sealing rings which need to be correctly located, check before you put it all back.Chances are that these seals won't actually be disturbed anyway.

Forgot to say that you will have to remove the xover pipe as well, or at least the nut that joins it to the tophat.

There should be a O-ring in between the top hat and TB

Depends - you may get away with turning it over, but you many need a new one, or you'll get a leak

I've had my tophat off many times and don't seem to have any leaks/problems in that area.

It may be prudent though to get a spare replacement just in case though!

I'm sure I've read on here a while back that some owners have removed the TB/tophat etc and they have reported that they have no rubber seal in place at all, which seems a bit odd.

Some ZLET's seem to have the 'O' ring and some don't

Yeah strange that, mine doesn't have it either.
