I seem to have a leak in my radiator and want to get it off so I can find out if it's repairable, but I've been told it's a nightmare job to remove the rad while the turbo is in place and the only way to do it is to disconnect the aircon and then re-gas it when all done?

Anyone know the best way to get the thing off?

Cheers

Sounds about right to be honest, although I've not done it myself. The coolant rad is the back one behind the air-con rad, which is behind the intercooler. So it stands to reason that you need to remove the air-con one before the coolant rad - unless you tackle it from behind - which would be difficult with the turbo in the way.

I replaced the A/C rad this weekend and in doing so I found out that the A/C Rad sits on a little lip that is connected to the coolant rad, so I'm guessing yes you would need to remove the A/C one as well..... the intercooler won't need to be removed, you just simply need to unbolt it from the rad at the top.

Good luck.... don't think it's gonna be an easy job... especially if you have the same trouble I had when trying to undo the bolts... I ended up grinding/drilling some of them off.
