Got up this morning and headed off to Westec in Newport (near the Cinema if your from there) as i'd recently changed my actuator and wanted to see how it was all running. It made 228 Bhp at around 5500 rpm and 245 lbs/torque at 3600 rpm. was fairly pleased with the graph as its improved over my previous one a few months ago, but still not liking the dips.

Was running an A/F ratio of between 12:1 & 11.1 all the way through the power band. Is this slightly too rich or good? Can i adjust my actuator slightly to up the boost a little if i have some excess fuel to be burnt?

An AFR of 14.7 is said to be the best allround ratio to have and it looks like you are running a bit rich, thats better than running lean!

Torque graph is a bit bumpy, I expect you feel that on the road, who did your map?

on a turbo car you reall want to be in th 12's on your afr. So dont worry, yours look spot on, mine are all in the 11's.

westec are prtty gd for RR's spent over an hr on mine ajusting etc. although having work there is pricey, lol

Its supposed to have a EDS phase 1 map on it, so was hoping for a little more power, but fairy happy with how the car drives, you can feel the the dip in the middle definitely.

Full engine spec is

EDS phase 1
Iriduim plugs
2.2 airbox
Lightened flywheel
FMIC
Front decat pipe
Sports cat
2 1/2 " exhaust

yeah for phase 1 would have expected a ickle more tbh,but theres prob a reason.

Yep, a figure of 12.4-12.6 is allegedly the figures for optimum torque/HP on a turbo motor.

I'd say the air fuel ratio is spot on. From my jap experience 11-12 A/F is perfect.

think im going to have mine done on sat with a compression test

14.7-1 is stoich thats how things melt in engines, around 12.5 would be a safe max with a good map on a turbo engine and around 13-1 on a good n/a map.

I had mine RR'd on sunday last week at Engine advantages.

Mines stock apart from a dump valves (which is going in the bin) and my power curve is very similar to that one goes up in stages just like the above power graph. Operator said you can feel it on the rollers quite badly and said it could be a number of things.

Sorry to hi-jack the post but anyone had a similar problem?

Its a 2003 GSi with 32k miles on the clock just so miffed :(

The dip in the middle is a characteristic of our turbo. It surges, get slowed down by ecu, realises it can still go and off it goes again.

Good results there Bruv, that would certainly leave my bus for toast. I would have come over with you if i'd have known you were going.
